6 Practices that Can Reduce Your Prostate Cancer Risks

Minimize the Amount of Fats in Your Diet

Therefore, try to incorporate a diet with low-fat concentrations to reduce your prostate cancer risks. Generally, fats should be less than 30% of your total daily caloric intake. Choose to eat less dairy and red meat as they are significant sources of saturated fats.

Invest in Soy Products

You can reduce your prostate cancer risks by increasing your soy intake. The isoflavones in the soy products have been tested in the lab and found to inhibit prostate cancer cells growth. Therefore, incorporate more soy products such as tempeh, miso, tofu, and soymilk into your diet. Also, peanuts and legumes are good sources of isoflavones and can help you reduce your risks.

Increase Your Fruits and Vegetable Intake

Consuming more fruits and vegetables has been found to reduce prostate cancer risks. Vegetables like tomatoes have lycopene, especially when cooked, and it has been found to reduce prostate cancer risks by about 35 %. Chives, scallions, shallots, leeks, garlic, and onions have oregano-sulfur compounds associated with decreased prostate cancer risks. Vegetables like broccoli, cabbage, kale, cauliflower, and Brussel sprouts can also help minimize your risks.
