Do You Have Gallstones? A Look at Your Best Treatment Options

February 12, 2020 by admin Leave a Comment

Gallstones are a common ailment for many people, and most of us are quite familiar with the symptoms and how it can be treated by medical professionals. Gallstones are simply deposits of fluid from the digestive system which have hardened and been created in a person’s gallbladder, and their size can vary from minute and grain-like to as big as golf balls. There are those who develop only a single gallstone, but some others may develop several gallstones in their gallbladder at the same time. The symptoms associated with gallstones are quite easy to notice as well – pain (sudden as well as rapid) in the upper portion of the abdomen or pain in the abdomen’s centre, just beneath the breastbone, as well as back pain, pain in the right shoulder, and vomiting or nausea. If you have gallstones, however, you may be worried about how best to treat it. If you are keen on finding out more about your treatment options, here’s what you should know.

C:\Users\Admin\Downloads\digestive-41529_1280.png

Your basic options

Most individuals who have gallstones don’t even know it, and they don’t require treatment until they begin feeling some symptoms and visit a medical specialist such as a gallbladder surgeon in London. But if you already have the symptoms and the presence of gallstones has been confirmed, your doctor will be the one to determine the kind of treatment you can have depending on the symptoms as well as diagnostic test results.

In general, most doctors or physicians will simply tell you to be alert if you start experiencing complications due to gallstones, such as intense pain in the upper right portion of your abdomen.

The array of treatment you can have

  • Cholecystectomy (surgery). Surgery may be recommended by your physician so as to remove the gallbladder, because gallstones may recur, as confirmed by gallstones London experts from the London Surgical Group. If your gallbladder is already removed, the bile will flow straight from the liver to the small intestine instead of being kept in the gallbladder. Gallbladders aren’t necessary for survival, and if your gallbladder is removed, it will not affect your capability of digesting food. It may, however, result in diarrhoea on occasion.
  • Medication. Medication is another method of treatment for gallstones, and with this, you can expect to take oral medication which may be able to dissolve the gallstones. Be aware, though, that this treatment method may take a long time – from a few months to several years – and new gallstones may once again form once you stop your treatment. Medications doesn’t always work, either, and the medication method is often used only for those who cannot go through surgery.

What you can expect

Once you have determined that you have gallstones and are considering your treatment options, you should know what to expect. It also pays to ask the right questions so you are more aware of what you can do with your condition. If you decide to undergo gallstone surgery (such as gallstone surgery in London from specialists like the London Surgical Group, which also specialise in inguinal hernia surgery, laparoscopic hernia repair in London, and more), you should be amply prepared for it so that the procedure can be a complete success.

Your Questions Answered About EMF Radiation

February 11, 2020 by admin Leave a Comment

What do you know about EMF radiation? In the modern world, EMF radiation is an increasing problem. As our reliance on devices and technology grows, so too does our exposure to EMF radiation. Find out more about this crucial health issue and what you can do to protect yourself and your family.

EMF Radiation: A Definition

EMF (electromagnetic field) radiation is also known as electromagnetic radiation or EMR. It is the energy emitted by electrical devices and electrical cables. Every device has its own electromagnetic field. These fields are potentially hazardous and cause significant disruption to the natural energy systems in our bodies. Some studies suggest that EMF radiation is carcinogenic. For many people, especially those that are sensitive to EMF, radiation is a significant disruption to everyday life.

Is EMF Dangerous?

If you’ve heard about EMF you’ve probably also heard some people saying it’s a significant danger, and others claiming there is nothing dangerous about it at all. Who should you believe? EMF may not cause significant health effects when experienced in low doses. But consider the fact that the human race experiences over 100 million times more EMF now than just two generations past. We are surrounded by EMF and many experts state how dangerous this continued and rising exposure is.

Does EMF Cause Disease?

Studies show that EMF causes health problems like headaches, depression, stress and irritability. It is also linked to cancer, sterility, learning difficulties, and other major diseases. EMF is known to disrupt the mechanisms for healthy sleep, producing insomnia and causing stress. Many people with enhanced EMF susceptibility are plagued by chronic health conditions like muscle fatigue, headaches and lowered immune system.

Exposure to EMFs at high levels over a long period of time, for example, if you live next to power cables or cell phone towers, has been linked to cancer. It could be potentially fatal. This is why protection from the dangers of EMF is vital.

Is EMF Protection Available?

There are many different types of EMF protection available on the market today. If you are concerned about your level of exposure to EMFs, protection is a must. EMF products are affordable and flexible to meet the needs of individuals, families and businesses. EMF jewellery includes pendants, crystal bracelets, and necklaces. You can buy EMF shields for phones and computers. Wi-Fi protection also exists. You can buy EMF protection for your kids and your pets.

Are There Other Ways to Protect Yourself?

Enhance your natural defences and protect against the effects of EMF radiation by creating a harmonizing field with crystals and positive energy. Various strategies boost the body’s systems to counterattack the radiation from prevalent EMF devices. Enhancing your body by consuming antioxidants also helps to neutralise the effect from the radiation.

It is important to take the risk from EMFs seriously. The danger from this form of radiation looks set to rise with the rollout of 5G. By using EMF protection, you can help yourself and your family live free from disease and stress.

Frequently Asked Questions About Chin Augmentation Chicago

February 7, 2020 by admin Leave a Comment

Mentoplasty, or chin augmentation surgery as its also known is a common cosmetic surgery procedure carried out to permanenetly augment the size and position of your chin. So if you’re considering chin augmentation Chicago then perhaps you have the same questions most people ask such as what type of anesthesia is used? How long will it take to recover after surgery? How is the implant inserted into my chin, and how is it secured there? Is it a painful surgical procedure and what if I don’t like the results?

Frequently Asked Questions About Chin Augmentation Chicago

First of all you should recognize that chin augmentation is a surgical procedure which does involve a scalpel and will take some time for your body to recover. Typically a chin augmentation is carried out under sedation with the sedation medicine delivered via a tube into a vein in your arm. As soon as the surgery is over the medicine is stopped and you will wake up instantaneously.

Prior to your surgery you will have a consultation meeting with the surgeon to decide on what size and position of implant you want so that your desired chin look is achieved. Visuals can be produced so you can see the end result and decide on the extent to which you want the implant. Usually a patient has grand ideas but once they see the visuals they pair it back to look more natural.

The implant is inserted through an external incision under the chin that is about half an inch in length and in an inverted v-shape. The scar will be minimal and because of its placement will unlikely be seen by anyone. The implant is secured by it being inserted under the bone periosteum, a dense layer of tissue naturally formed over of the chin bone. The implant is placed under this tissue and secured with dissolvable stitches. Over the first few months the periosteum shrinks back over the implant securing it tightly in place.

The implants used are silastic so they can be molded and cut to the size and shape required. They can also be removed later should the patient decide at any stage months or even years after the surgery that they no longer want the implant, or want it swapped for a different one.

Following surgery there will be some pain, and swelling, especially as the scar from the scalpel heals. There will also be some tightness and pressure of the chin. But after a few days the swelling should go down and the sensation of pressure will go away.

In terms of complications few are expected with chin augmentation, especially those where the insertion is carried out externally. For insertions carried out through the mouth, which is still done by some surgeons, there is a higher risk of infection, and there is possible movement of the insert upward which my cause the chin to look strange. There may also be numbness of the lips and chin for a short period.

Having a Rhinoplasty in Chevy Chase

February 7, 2020 by admin Leave a Comment

A rhinoplasty or nose job, as we often call them, is a popular form of cosmetic surgery because for many people the nose can be the most out of balance, or out of proportion element of their face which can make a lot of difference to their overall appearance and feelings of self esteem. So what can you expect when having a rhinoplasty in Chevy Chase? What does a rhinoplasty procedure involve, what are recovery times like, and what results can you expect?

Rhinoplasty in Chevy Chase

A rhinoplasty is a surgical procedure which addresses nasal bridge bumps, large nostrils, a bulbous or drooping nose tip, long noses and crooked noses. Sometimes a combination of one or more of these nose issues.

The first step in having a rhinoplasty is meeting with a facial plastic surgeon to discuss the procedure. They will talk you through the surgery, recovery and also pre-surgical consultation. You will discuss how you would like your nose to look and then visuals will be created to to give you a foregleam of what your new nose will look like on your face. At this stage you can make small adjustments until you are happy with the final nose. The surgeon can then plan their surgery and decide how to attain the nose you want.

Types of Rhinoplasty

There are two main types of rhinoplasty, closed rhinoplasty and open rhinoplasty. Closed rhinoplasty is carried out by making incisions inside the nose to carry out the surgery, which leaves you with no visible scarring. This is often preferred by many patients but may not always be possible. Alternatively an open rhinoplasty is carried out through a small incision made in the tissue that divides the nostrils at the base of the nose. A scar here is difficult to detect and heals well, and gives full access to the nose for the surgeon. If you’ve had a rhinoplasty before, and the second surgery is corrective then it is likely the surgery will have to be made open because there won’t be much cartilage left from the first surgery.

The function of the nose is as important as the outward appearance so during the surgery your plastic surgeon will do their best to improve your nasal function, to help with breathing. To maintain nasal structure a good plastic surgeon will use natural tissues to build a supportive nasal structure that will last with ageing. This may require removal of cartilage from the ear or lower ribs to use within the nose.

Surgery and Recovery

A typical nasal surgery will take three to four hours and will be carried out as an outpatient procedure using anesthesia so the patient can return home afterward. Recovery will take several days and will include swelling and some pain. But by the end of the first week the patient will feel greatly improved and will be able to remove the nasal splint during the second week. It is best to avoid exercise for several weeks.

Finding a Family Dentist in Clinton Maryland

February 7, 2020 by admin Leave a Comment

If you’ve just relocated to the area or are looking for a new Dental practice because your family dentist has recently retired, or you’re no longer happy with their service, how can you choose a new Dentist in Clinton Maryland? There are many to pick from, and you may wonder how to differentiate between one dentist and the other, are you best just going to your closest dental practice and sticking with them?

Picking a Dentist in Clinton Maryland

Well as with many things you choose, its often best to make your decision based on fit and quality rather than vicinity. You likely don’t take your car to be serviced at the nearest garage, because you want a garage that specializes in your cars brand, so they know the issues specific to that car and can source genuine parts. The same is true with a dentist, you should ensure each member of your family has the opportunity to see a specialist, so a larger dental practice which has several dentists there who specialize in different types of dentistry would be a much better fit for your family.

Pediatric Dentist

For example pediatric dentistry is a specialist area, a good pediatric dentist treats children with infant teeth very differently to those who have their second teeth. They will know to provide regular check ups for cleaning and filling, but also fluoride treatments to safeguard your kid’s teeth from cavities. For older children who have their permanent molars and premolars they will treat them with dental sealants during their younger years, because adolescents are susceptible to cavities due to poor dental hygiene and excessive consumption of sugar leading to a build up of plaque and food debris.

Cosmetic Dentistry

In later years adults often have to see a cosmetic dentist to discuss veneers, crowns, or perhaps replacements for bridges and porcelain restorations for damaged teeth. You may also want to consider teeth whitening. A cosmetic dentist in house at your local dental practice will provide advice and then carry out the chosen treatment to restore your teeth. Such modern aesthetic dentistry should be available at the clinic that you trust with your year round dental care.

Spa Experience

In addition to providing your check ups, hygiene appoints, pediatric care for your children, and cosmetic dentistry for all members of the family, a full service modern dental practice will have developed its experience way beyond what you would have been used to at your childhood dentist. Dentists are now more than aware that a visit to the dentist has been an intimidating experience for people in the past, making them nervous and feeling anxious about their visit.

Therefore some of the modern dental practices have adopted a Spa experience throughout you visit, so when you arrive you will see much more comfortable and relaxing surroundings, and be met with calming music, aromatherapy, and a comfortable waiting area with drinks, and spa amenities for you to enjoy. You will be relaxed before your treatment rather than worried.
